Volunteers are the heart and soul of Brain Care Centre. Without the constant support and commitment of our volunteers, Brain Care Centre would not be able to function to its full potential.
In 2010 alone, Brain Care Centre benefited from 4045 hours of volunteer service!!! The staff and clients of BCC are sincerely grateful for the contributions of our wonderful volunteers.
Volunteers make valuable contributions to the quality and quantity of services and programs provided by Brain Care Centre.
In addition to the satisfaction of ‘giving back to the community’ and ‘doing something that is worthwhile’ , volunteering is a lovely way to meet people and make some new and lasting friendships with other volunteers. We also like to laugh and have fun!
As a volunteer, your time commitment is not burdensome, you can set your own days and hours. Who can say no to that?!
There are many different volunteer opportunities available through the Brain Care Centre that are centered around six major areas of volunteerism.
1. Client Support (Leisure companions)
2. Special Events & Fund Raising (the Bi-Annual Casino, the Great Human Race, the Dinner/Silent Auction, Annual Kick-Off Breakfast, Brain Injury Awareness Week, etc.).
3. Office Support (front desk reception, mail outs, library, etc.).
4. Education (Raising awareness about prevention and helping to teach clients in house through seminars and workshops).
5. Online Volunteers (Writing and Editing, research, design, translation, project development and management, IT development, consulting, education, etc)
6. Board Governance Structure of Brain Care Centre (serving on the Brain Care Centre Board of Directors, Fund Raising Committee, other committee work, etc.).
Brain Care Centre would not exist without the ongoing support of our volunteers.
