There will be a spring session of the Caregiver Support Group.

Caregiver Support Group

This group is designed for individuals choosing to provide care and support to a family member with a brain injury. Participants are invited to share their experiences of life after brain injury and to support each other in practicing self care. Discussion topics are chosen in response to the interest of the members and often include: allowing healthy grieving, adjusting to changing roles, accessing community resources, reducing stress, and finding time for self.

Starting January 13th, 2009.

The Understanding Brain Injury support group is accepting applications. An individual must be in services at NABIS to apply. If you are not in service then call the Information Coordinator at (780) 479-1757 (Extension 34) and ask to do an intake.

If you are receiving services from NABIS already then please call Michael Pyska at (780) 479-1757 (Extension 23) to apply.

Understanding Brain Injury

Tuesdays: 1:30-3:30pm

NABIS Group Room, Facilitator: Michael Pyska

This group is intended for persons with an acquired brain injury who are open to offering and receiving support while while learning more about brain injury and about constructive strategies for surviving and thriving. Discussion topics revolve around the effects of brain injury and survivors’ experiences once they return home from physical rehabilitation and as they re-enter the community.
